Metropolitan police officers attended a Junior Citizenship Scheme event yesterday engaging with Year 6 pupils as part of an ongoing initiative to promote safety and awareness among young people. During the session, officers delivered an interactive talk on knife-crime prevention, highlighting the importance of staying safe in public places and knowing how to seek help when needed. The event formed part of a wider partnership effort to equip children with the knowledge and confidence to make positive decisions in their everyday live.
Other participant also attended the event, including TFL focused on transport safety, providing Year 6 pupils with practical guidance on how to travel safely and confidently across the network. their input helped reinforce important message about responsible behaviour, personal awareness, and safe travel practices as pupils prepare for greater independence.
Southwark Council recycling and waste Management team also participated, offering as informative workshop on sustainable waste disposal. They demonstrated correct bin usage, explained the importance of recycling, and encourage pupils to develop environmentally responsible habits at home and at school. This session supported our ongoing commitment to prompting sustainability and empowering pupils to play an active role in protecting their environment. | ||
